I work for a moderately sized J.C. Penney in a small town. It is well lit with a wide open selling floor where I am a Customer Service Associate (fancy way of saying Clerk). This kind of environment lends itself to a wonderful family atmosphere where my co-workers are also my friends. With this kind of a work environment it is no surprise to anyone in the store when the General Manager wanders into the break room and helps himself to whatever is on anyone's lunch or dinner plate. Oh, sure they protest but only in jest. Noone has ever had a problem with this. It is a habbit he was known for and because of a recent incident has stopped doing. On that day we were graced with the presence of a Supervisor's two daughters of ages 5 and 6. They were sharing our break table and were enjoying some fast food french fries. One of the little darlings seemed only to like the salt from the fries that were placed on a napkin in front of her. After several seconds of sucking on one, she would very neatly place it back into the fry box. Enter the Store Manager who quickly snatched up a fry from the box and made an odd face when placing it in his mouth. We all just stood there and stared. Not really knowing if we should say anything. He then glanced down in time to see the little girl pulling a soggy fry from her mouth and placing it in the box. He prompty excused himself and headed straight for the men's room. Presumably to exspunge his stomach, although we wouldn't know. We were all laughing hysterically.
