In my first couple of weeks working at Radio Shack I dealt with a lot of crazy people, but my favorite was a woman who came in to get a warranty replacement on her landline phone. She had a 3 year old landline phone that had been beaten its whole life, and now had static on the line. She came in wanting a warranty replacement, which I was more than happy to do for her, except her phone was a red "princess" style phone that was on clearance when she bought it, so clearly no longer around. Infact there were no longer red phones at all. When I told her this she started screaming at the top of her lungs. I tried to explain to her that this was simply beyond my abilities to remedy and that she could talk to the manager the next day, but she insisted that I call him at home at 8:30 at night. He was a cool guy so I did. He could hear her in the background screaming over everything I said in my explanation of the situation using profanity and behaving like a foul mouthed 2 year old having a tantrum. When he heard this he told me I didn't have to take that crap from customers, and that I should throw her out, and "have fun with it." After getting confirmation that I heard this right I said thanks for the help to him and hung up the phone. I then looked the woman calmly in the eyes and told her "I'm sorry, but you're going to have to leave because you can't behave like an adult." She turned bright red, became so angry she couldn't speak and stormed off. The next day a co-worker told me that she had sheepishly come in and spent $100 or so, and never mentioned the phone.
