Hello,
I was discharged from my position at work 3 years after the fact. Back in 2003 I was placed on probation for a minor offense. Stupid decision I made in my private life. My employer found out about this in early 2006 and discharged me for "Ethical" reasons. I was and still am an excellent employee. I work hard and study very hard and work well with others. The funny thing is the day before my termination i received a hurrasing telephone call from someone in the organization. I reported it but nothing came of it except my termination. I tried to explain to the HR director my situation but he did not care. I just remember him saying "We have an obligation to the community" I was upset and stood up and shook his hand and just said good by and left. I went home to my wife and told her and she was upset but we worked through it. Looking back now I did tell them I learned my lesson in humility and my termination was not required. You would think that being at an organization for 6 years you would get a second chance. The HR director seemed more on covering his own back side than taking time to listen. My work record has been excellent my entire work career and still is. It was funny because my friend called me about 2 weeks after the fact and gave me a contracting job for 6 months. I told him what had happened and he said that he would back me 100%. He realized I made a mistake but he also knows what I deliver to the table. I told my new employer and they did not care and they thanked me for being honest. What am I looking for NOTHING! Just to dialog with people and share my experience.
Thanks,
Argneka
