Holland America Line Asked for Birthdate

I have had 2 telephone interviews for the position of cruise director for Holland America Line. They went very well and they dispensed with the third interview and told me they were flying me out to Seattle for a personal interview and to meet management and the VP of Entertainment. They sent me itinerary, etc., and directions. Part of the time is supposed to be spent on the MS Zaandam, touring the ship. Today they sent me an email asking for my birth date in order to complete the "visitor pass" for the ship. This struck me as a sneaky way of finding out my age - normally all you do is present a picture id to visit a ship. My resume makes it clear I've had a 25+ year career - but to everyone's surprise, I'm 53. I really want this job and don't know what to do.
