Normally my checks are automatically deposited into my account by my company. Rarely do I get a check that I have to actually take to the bank and make a deposit. Even more rare do I even ask for cash back. I pay for everything with credit cards, usually.
But, because we were about to go on a trip, I filled out my deposite slip requesting to deposit only a portion of my check. I was asking for the rest of the check in cash.
I began to flirt with the cashier and she flirted back. It could have been this distraction that got me confused. Or, because I wasn't used to getting cash back when I make a deposit, I left with only my deposit slip and didn't get the cash. It totally slipped my mind.
Later that evening I got a call from the bank. They asked if I had made a deposit but not gotten my cash I had requested. Only then did I realize I hadn't gotten my money.
They said that the cash I had requested had been returned to my account and I would need to make a cash withdrawl if I still wanted to get cash from my account.
Remembering the cashier I had been flirting with I asked if she got in trouble for the error. I wanted them to know that it was my stupidity for flirting and forgetting to get my cash. But they simply said that she no longer works for that bank!
