InterContinental Hotels Group - Holiday Inn

I worked for the Holiday Inn for almost 2 years and I can remember vividly a situation where there was a Tornado warning for our county and city. The news stations had us in purple, meaning we needed to take cover because a tornado was heading our way. The employees were nervous and didn't know what to do, because we did not have drills to prepare us for this. An evacuation plan was posted inside, but the front desk clerks were nervous and calling the manager, but didn't know what to do. I was the bellman and the maintenance guy helped me knock on the doors of all the rooms and get everyone down to the first floor hallways. I didn't panic and stayed calm and was able to make clear decisions during this situation, even though my co-workers were nervous. I received a gold star after this event, but I definitely think the Holiday Inn and other hotels should plan and prepare for tornadoes and hurricanes.
