I took on a full-time retail position with TJ Maxx and I have to say I don't enjoy the company at all. After more than 5 months of employment, getting off the closing shift is hopeless. Upon interviewing for the position I was told that everyone started on the late shift but was awarded better shifts after a period of orientation. Not the case. The work itself is not that hard, perhaps the most time consuming aspect is markdowns which require scanning every article of clothing to see if it needs a price reduction. Very inefficient method! Perhaps the most suprising aspect of the company is that they are paying a seamstress to work in the back repairing damaged clothes in hopes of still selling them!
