Wachovia #1 in customer service??

I've had SEVERAL experiences with Wachovia - including being employed there that differ from the #1 in customer service experience. In working there, ALL the Financial Service managers care about are you getting '7's'. Those 7's are from a poll - they call customers after transactions to see if the teller remembered to use your name, if they greeted you kindly etc. However the Managers only care that you get that 7. I agree that customer service is important, but if their tellers are out of balance $2000 because of a typo, they don't care about that 'Proof will find it' you see. So these poor tellers are not making their bonuses for balancing, because they don't have time to look for the errors. It was truly the most stressful job for the least pay that I have ever had. $9/hour. That's how much your tellers are making in case you wonder. Oh and don't forget the sales referrals. If a teller ever asks you about your home, or debts, or if this high balance is usual for you - it's because they're trying to make their required # of sales referrals in a month. Forget actually processing customers transactions correctly, and truly giving that superb customer service. When First Union and Wachovia first merged, Wachovia's cross checks for their banking practices (ie. double checking teller drawer balancing) were sadly lacking. One group of tellers got caught (and susequently fired) for doing a 'force balance'. Basically they were just entering numbers into the computer until it came out to zero. NICE. At one point in time I was living out of town, and had someone steal my identity. They were using my debit card # to purchase gasoline (how they did that I'll never know) and other things. When we contacted Wachovia because we saw that there were erroneous debits - THEY ARGUED WITH ME. 'Well that's your hometown, you must have just forgotten some gas that you bought.' Ummm no. Actually I was living 7 hours away and hadn't been home for 4 months. It took FOREVER to get the $ credited back and when they finally did it was minus a $50 fee.
