I Worked at Walgreen’s for 3 years. I started this job as a young troubled teenager with no job experience and no people skills at all. I doubted myself in many areas of, my life, but within 3 years of working with this company I made huge strides in my life. To some Walgreen’s may just be your everyday simple job. But to me it saved my life. Having had no structure or discipline in my life whatsoever, the manager took a chance on me, when not many others would. I was so proud of that chance, and tried my hardest in all my job responsibilities. I picked up the cash register really quick, and soon learned the photo lab. To some that may seem simple, but believe me when I tell you, there is a lot of work into developing photos. I soon learned how to run the photo lab with my eyes closed. The staff at Walgreen’s became like my family. I eventually started working in the Pharmacy, and was able to grow and develop with all the new skills I learned. They trained me and I took classes provided by them. I have to say that although not always pleasant and having up and downs like anyone else, Walgreen’s helped me to grow and develop into the young adult I am today. My manager was more understanding than any one I had ever met. Other people often clashed with him, but him and me connected. HE understood some of the outside issues in life that I faced with daily and always worked my schedule around that. Walgreen’s was a huge stepping-stone in my life, and I am proud to say that if it were not for them I would not have had the success I have in my life today.
