Having visited Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida several times with my family as a child and multiple times as a young adult with friends I was already aware of the level of service that Disney provided but until my most recent trip I didn't realize exactly how far they went.
My daughter, who was 1 and a half at the time, has a milk allergy. As I am sure you can imagine this makes life difficult, as almost everything contains milk. We went prepared with a full load of Soy Milk for our week long vacation but were pleasantly surprised to find that Soy Milk was sold in the restaurant at the All Star Resort in which we were staying.
That was a pleasant surprise, but we were really blown away when we made reservations for a Character Breakfast at the Contemporary Resort and the person taking our reservation specifically asked if we had any specific food requirements. After we had been seated at our table the hostess told us that the chef would be out shortly to talk with us about our daughter's milk allergy.
The Sheff came out, introduced himself, and then proceeded to walk us through the buffay line and tell us exactly which items contained milk and which did not. Even explaining that we could eat one particular dish of fried potatoes because they were prepared with non-dairy cooking oil but not to eat the potatoes from another dish as they were prepared with butter. We were pleasantly surprised that the chef would take that much time to assist us and make sure all our concerns were taken care of.
I will be the first to admit that no vacation is going to be perfect and I know that there will always be problems. But it nice to know that when visiting Walt Disney World if there is a problem there will always be someone to there to help remedy the problem immediately.
